Meeting with Maja Dragojević Stojić

The members of the Initiative Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform used the meeting with Maja Dragojević Stojić, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and a member of the Equal Opportunities Committee of the NARS, to discuss gender (in)equality with a focus on the lack of a gender perspective in the Constitution of BiH.

Discussing the Recommendation of the Institution of the Ombudsmen of BiH, which determined the discrimination of women in the Constitution of BiH through language, and generally about gender-sensitive language, we emphasized the importance of using inclusive language in constitutions and laws, and all other key documents for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lack of gender equality as a constitutional category and affirmative measures specified in the Constitution to prevent discrimination and marginalization of women in important spheres of life was also pointed out.
