Meeting of Coordinating Committee of the Initiative “Women Citizens for Constitutional Changes” held in Sarajevo

11986085_10153129710187634_1556840112_oOn Friday, August 18 2015, in Sarajevo, the members of the Coordinating Committee (KO) of the Initiative “Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform” met with aim to agree on the realization of further project activities under the project”Engendering Constitutional Changes” which is financially supported by Kvinna till Kvinna.

This is the first meeting of members of the Coordinating Committee out of three planned meetings that will be realized by the end of 2016. Members of the Coordinating Committee, on held meeting, discussed the capacity of the current members of the Initiative and what are the most effective mechanisms to expand the membership of the Initiative.

They also talked about the ways in which citizens/women citizens can affirm and take an interest to join the Initiative. Members of the Coordinating Committee have touched the theme about localization of the Constitution and the methods that bring the Constitution closer to citizens/women citizens. It was concluded that the Initiative should, in the next period, promote, through social networks, citizen/women citizens to join the same, because “the Constitution of BiH is the issue that concerns all of us”.

The meeting adopted the Rules of procedure of the Coordinating Committee of the Initiative “Women Citizens for Constitutional Reform” which signed the current president Dragana Đurić, in front of the Women’s Forum Bratunac.

Members of the Coordinating Committee also emphasized that the planned training within the project will be a springboard for strengthening the capacity of the existing members of the Initiative, as well as, that the representation of the Initiative in public will be the key for the approach of the Platform and gender amendments, which were written by initiative and put into parliamentary procedure in 2014, to all citizens/women citizens in BiH.
